Anna thinking of a Move
Here is Anna thinking of her next move. She knows that a good balance of over the board games mixed with chessbook studies will improve her game. She also plays her Dad, Rudy, at home plus 2 brothers and a little sister she can practice on. Magnus Carlsen won the World Chess Championship over viswanathan Anand by a score of 6.5 [3 wins-7 draws] to 3.5 [3 losses-7 draws] It only went 10 of 12 games because Magnus had enough points and Anand could not even tie it up with 2 games left. For some reason Anand did not seem to have his heart in this match. He acepted too many draws when it was clear he needed to fight on as hard as he could for a win, but I suppose he would have lost even worse for Magnus is a fierce aggressive player. Also the entire match was played in India and you would think this would be a plus for Anand being a home advantage on his turf. Instead all the pressure of the India Press took its toll on Anand’s nerves. At least no nerves lost at the Jackson Chess Club. Our games are soothing and quite relaxing.
