Lane vs Jimio
Brenden and I will be heading to Toledo to play in their Toledo Open Chess Tournament. Here I am batteling Lane and sharpening my brain for a hopefully good result. I’ll be in the open section so I’ll be lucky (opps,no luck in chess) to take second. WISH US LUCK (There’s that word again) Cheers -Jimio

New Member of the Club on the right
Brenden playing the new member Lodd just before we started a casual club tournament. 9 showed up but only 5 played in the tourney which Brenden won. The Jackson Chess Club is open to anyone of all ages and there is no membership fee. We play at the Cottage Inn Pizza on W. Michigan Ave just east of the Westwood Mall. Come down and flewx your brain muscles. *Cheers* -Jimio

Friday Knight Quads
I like the Maize -N- Blue Chess Set
Well my 1st over the board tournament in 20 years was a surprise in that I did not lose all my games. In fact I won 2 and lost only 1. A freiend went with me to the tournament so we had 2 from Jackson Michigan represented for us.
A lot of very young players were here which bodes well for the future I guess.
I’d say us older players were outnumbers 3 to 1.
Jennifer Skidmore-Smith was the TD and she did a fantastic job.Of course she has plenty of experience.
The guy on the right seems to be thinking extra hard.
Chess teaches great concentration skills.
The Tournament was played at Pierpoint Commons on the University of Michigan Campus in Ann Arbor. Right next door was the Arthur Miller building. Arthur Miller wrote the book “Death of a Salesman” and “The Crucible” and many other works which have turned into plays and movies. Arthur Miller was an Alumnus of U of Mich.
